One Years Old!!!

I simply cannot believe Ian turned one yesterday!!

I LOVE YOU. :)

I'm sad today. I just found out that a guy I went to high school with died a few days ago.
While attending his 20 year high school reunion 2 weeks ago, he fell and hit his head and then airlifted to the hospital. The cause of his fall was a stroke and he suffered several more while in the hospital. He was only 38 years old.

Rest in peace, Paul. Many will miss you.

Oh...criminy

I curse too much; I've made that discovery. But is it really that awful compared to the other things I could do? Hmmmm...

I don't want my kids to curse so I try very mightily not to curse around them...even the baby who can't really talk yet. If they hear me, then they think it's okay. BUT...say I don't curse around them and instead of OH, SHIT I say OH, SUGAR. Is that really any better? It's not a curse word but the meaning behind it is the same. But I still don't want my boys going to school and letting out a big, bad word. Because of what they'll think of their parents? Nah, not really.

We spent Saturday at the apple festival in Waynesville, NC, and stayed in my FIL's camper in Asheville, NC. The weather was beautiful, but COLD. The temperature hovered around 55 degrees all day...but we just bundled up and still had fun. They block off Main street for the festival and have vendors from all over show up to sell their wares and, of course, they have tons of apples and apple-made products. Oh, my...the fried apple pies are to die for...I probably put on 5 pounds! :)

I am in a tizzy. What's a tizzy? If you don't know, ask me at a later date, k? I'm in too much of one to answer properly.

Today, as I usually do on Fridays, I went online to check our available checking account balance, to check to make sure M's check had been credited as it is every Friday and what that total amount was. I'm unusually (or not) anal-retentive about our checking account. If it doesn't balance to the penny, it can throw me into a fit. (should there be a comma there?)

Anyway...I went online, I checked the available amount and it was...are you ready? Almost TWO THOUSAND effin' dollars in the negative!!! Someone has evidently used my debit card to make a purchase at Northern Tools for $1765.08...SOMEone. Not me. I've been on the phone with the catalog sales department as well as every store in South Carolina trying to figure out where this purchase could have been made. I've also been on the phone with the bank to start a fraud investigation. I can't imagine HOW this could've happened. Thank God the bank has released the funds back into our account and not made us wait for further investigation.

On another, much lighter, note...I've recently happened upon this blog. She is totally hilarious and beautiful and has the most awesome name...April, of course. :) Check her out....you'll love her, too.

i know, i know....i'm totally out of touch.

however...

..the place i work just re-opened September 4th after 10 months of renovations.
..the several days before that i spent moving two offices worth of stuff from our temporary office space back into my new office space.
..we had to try and finish exhibit stuff
..opening reception for 600 people was on 9/04
..my computer at work crashed
..my oldest son's birthday was 9/11
..oldest son's birthday party was on 9/13
..old printer & scanner do not work with windows vista
..hate windows vista
..youngest son's babysitter quit

..need a vacation!!
